I have a bit of a problem. We have various wireless devices in my household, and so the connection can get a bit bogged down. In my room I have three devices I use, so I decided to connect a router dedicated to these devices; my Roku SmartTV, my Surface, and my Steam Link. This has greatly improved performance, as well as my Miracast to the TV. Sadly, there is one hand up, I can no longer connect to my main PC with my Steam Link.

Let me give a summary of the network... Modem/router combo that is connected to my main PC and then the other router. Then off that router, I have my Steam Link hardwired and the other two devices on wireless.

I've tried changing the secondary router to bridge mode, but it gives me an invalid field message, and to be honest I'm not really sure what I'm doing here. If someone can propose a solution here, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does it really matter for the application? I get your point, but honestly it wouldn't have made the out come of the post any different except having more information.

If a device can be put into bridged, AP,repeater, or adapter mode makes a big difference depending on the model number. You fixed the problem without knowing what you did. Hope it doesn't happen again.

The thing is I do know what I did. I knew it needed to be in bridge mode. I couldn't get it to use the option that was there to do so prior, and now it worked. Every wireless router I've owned has had these options, so I fail to see your point, beyond just being annoying.

Your failure to see why needing know the model number of a device while troubleshooting it make it impossible for me to help you. I see now you don't need help, so thread closed.
