Hi LTT community!

My first time reaching out concerning a new build I want to put together, wanting to try and gather as much information as possible, hoping you guys can help me out. Before now I've been gaming on a 360 then moved onto a laptop (Asus X550CA). Quick Summary:

- Budget: £1,000 - £1,500 (US $1,500 - $2,000)
- Zip Code or Location: UK (NI, so not on the mainland)
- Specific Use: Purely gaming. Want it to last, hopefully be capable of playing BF5 and ES:VI when they eventually come out.
- Any preferred components?:  Nothing specific.
- Any spare parts you can re-use?: None.
- Overclocking your processor?: Hoping to, first time.
- Need an Operating System?: Yes. Win 10 I can get for about £75.
- Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard?: Really just a monitor; have the Asus VX24AH 60Hz 24.0" Monitor in mind, it's around £200 and 1440p so wanting a PC that can handle that. Hoping to pick up a Logitech G53 mini-keyboard if anyone has experience in that regard?
- Need a Wireless Card or Adapter?: If the motherboard can handle a wireless card then that'd be great.
- Need Another Component? (Specify): None to my knowledge.

Other Useful Info
- Number of Monitors: Just the one mentioned above.
- Other Info?: This will be sitting in my living room, it won't have much of a dedicated space, and I'd want it as quiet as possible.

I've done some research over the last couple of weeks, done up a few parts lists to understand compatibilities etc. Motherboards have been the toughest to decide on, but I have it down to at least one or two components for everything else.

CPU - AMD FX 6300, however unsure of it's effective use with desired GPUs.

         - i5 6600K, considerable cost increase, however if it is likely better to survive for the next 6+ years then would probably be worth it in the long term, hence its consideration.

Cooler - Since I want to OC I was gonna go for an AIO option, had my eye on a Cooler Master Nepton 240M, or 120 if it turns out the 240 won't fit.

Mobo - Jury's still out since it depends on which CPU I end up going for, but still don't want to expend too much, unless the difference is significant.

RAM - Start with just 1x8GB 1600MHz, DDR3 for AMD or DDR4 for i5

Storage - SSD - Crucial BX200 480GB w/ HDD- Seagate Barracuda 3TB.

GPU - Tossing up between 390 or 970, leaning more towards a 970 though still unsure of brand.

Case - Fractal Define S w/ window. Seems good to keep the storage drives out of the way and I'm happy without having a disk drive, still got an external one I needed with one of my other laptops (another Asus)

PSU - Depends on final components.

Thanks for any advice you can give! Let me know if you need anything I've missed.

Here's a suggestion with Xeon E3, which is basically an i7-4770 without iGPU, offering great value. However, it is not overclockable.
