DRAM Structure

I wish to upgrade my RAM in my HP 15-d009tu to 4 GB  but I'm confused whether to buy a 8 * 512 MB DRAM Structure or 16 * 256 MB DRAM Structure. Is there any performance difference between these two.

in this case, go for the cheaper one

these is a difference, but with hardware this old, its best just to go cheaper

more memory chips allow for higher parallel access that yields in better troughput and lower latency
