i recently upgraded my computer and when i went to do a fresh installation of windows 8.1 i got it installed and when it rebooted i got a message saying "windows setup cannot configure windows to run on this hardware please reboot"

so i rebooted 3-4 times and still the same error i then tryed windows 10 the same thing happened and when i used my brothers windows 7 installation he had been using for a while it loads up halfway blue screened and restarts anyone know the problem?

 

system specs

i3 3240 @3.40ghz 

asrock h61m dgs r2.0 mobo

nvidia geforce gt 630

8gb ddr3 ram 

g7 680w psu

 

side note

i installed ubuntu 15.10 and it worked fine without any errors

did you purchase an OEM version of windows?

the ram sticks are fully in and i cant physically get into windows to get into safe mode ive tried this

It is weird when I looked up about “Windows Setup could not configure Windows on this computer’s hardware” it mostly gave me Windows 7 OS...

i got the same thing 

but it happened on both times with windows 10 and 8.1
