Hi guys! I have an old laptop it is an Compaq Presario C702TU, I want to buy a new RAM/memory for it, so I went online and found the RAMMAX DDR2 (1x2GB) RAM sticks it says that it is compatible with all motherboards... is that true?

No, it is not true. I think they mean that it supports all motherboards during the time where DDR2 was as popular as DDR4.

I think for laptops the ram should be sodimm

DND, I looked again on the website and it says the ram is sodimm...

this is the specification of the ram that I saw on the website:

  

• Type: DDR2
• Frequency: 667 MHz
• Memory Capacity: 2GB
• Latency: CL 5
• Compatibility: Work with all motherboards

Check the manual of your Notebook. If it says you can upgrade your ram with ddr2 sodim sticks, you should be fine
