Hello guys,

i want to build my first gaming pc and need some help with it, here is the part list:

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/cGTKYJ

I planned to use an 1440p monitor at first, because im not sure about 4k. Would it be able to run 4k gaming? (maybe the same grapics card again in SLI?)

I'm not a native english speaker, so please don't blame me for my issues! :/

If you don't understand somethink I'm writing please tell me!

yes I agree (however I did under 4k gaming, "low system memory crashes with 16gb /shrug), I cant recommend 4x4gb, just think if you're buying 4 sticks (quad channel) then go with 4x8gb, saves replacing the 4gb sticks further down the line

Can you explain to me why I should take an diffrent CPU? Wasn't the one before better?

And whats about the motherboard, why a diffrent one?

Sorry guys! I hope you are understanding what I'm writing here :/

Direct X 12 which is incoming will benefit much more from the extra cores of the 5820K. An i7 6700K has 4 cores + 4 threads making it appear to have 8 logical cores (emulated if you will). A 5820K has 6 physical cores + 6 hyperthreading making it appear to have 12 logical cores.

You need a different motherboard as the 5820k requires a different chipset to that of the 6700k, 2011 pins vs 1151

So the rest of the system is good to go with 4k? Or is there a better CPU/Graphicscard that i could buy?

I wouldn't really aim for 4k at the moment, hardware isn't quite there without spending a lot of cash. a 980ti will run most games at 4k with high detail settings, but like my 970 sli set up. it will struggle with some later games, although by that point you could add another 980ti. Personally I feel 1440P is the sweet spot at the moment

Maybe so, but early indications seem to point to it as a fact:

I know the evidence is very limited at the moment, but I would still take the 5820k over the 6700k (especially due to the 6700k's inflated price at the moment) as it is the superior platform

Just one word of advice: Once you've picked your parts, be sure to look them up on geizhals.de. You might be able to save another 100,- Euros this way.

Honestly, the build suggested is overkill for 1440p.

I woundn't say so, its going to be near identical performance to my rig and some games I'm running along at 50FPS 1440P fully maxed. If the OP does indeed SLI 2x 980ti then yes I would recommend 4k, but keep in mind a single 980ti is going to struggle at max settings 4k in a years time, if not less (albeit only on latest AAA titles)

The 3dmark one I'm not surprised, doesn't that test have a physic's benchmark? The ashes one I can't say the same about.

You could buy the 4k monitor now, run 4k and just drop the resolution to 1440P when/if the 980ti begins to struggle. That would save switching out the monitor at a later date.

Would the qualitiy be still the same like on a 1440p monitor? Or are there some difficultys doing this? Drivers still work correctly?

Lol I'm not anywhere near the imaginary Vram stutter lol, not at 1440P anyway. Depends on the game really, this weekend I have been playing beta's for the Division and Black Desert so they aren't a good measure as still beta.

Games I have been playing around that FPS with max settings (maybe not full MSAA)

Rise of the Tomb Raider

GTA V

Fall Out 4

Far Cry 4

Witcher 3 (50 - 80 FPS @ ultra settings)

MGS V

AC: Syndicate

TC Rainbow Six:Siege

Drivers won't be an issue at all. I have a 4k TV hooked up to my rig and sometimes wanna just chill on sofa with a gamepad and play some 4k. It runs a lot of games fine at 4k, others are a struggle, most notably AC:Unity and Rise of th Tomb Raider. Those 2x games I run @1440P and the scaling isn't an issue, however I can't speak for specific 4k monitors as to how well the downscale

Sooo... I thought about it and I think I'm buing a 4k monitor, I'm not sure but I think I will try to use the i7-6700k as planned (do you think i would still work or do you really reccomend the other one?), but your idea with the ssd is good, but I actually need a bigger one like this: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mzv5p512bw

This is a very fast thing, or? It uses PcIe right?

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z170deluxe

This motherboard has only 2x PcIe, right?

there is the problem: If i want to upgrade my pc later, there is now PcIe slot left for the second card...

Is this card better than the one before? because of sc? https://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-06gp44995kr

Do you know a good cheap 4k monitor?

That SSD is a solid choice, the 512gb actually performs a little better than the 256gb.

I'm not sure about the PCIE, but I know that board offers 32g/b sec m.2 which is plety fast enough:

The EVGA is a solid choice also, they have the best customer support and offer the step up program, they are my "go to" brand for Nvidia

I would still say to go 5820K, however the choice is yours. For gaming the 6700K will perform better out of the box, the 5820K would need to be overclocked to perform the same. But anything using more than 4 cores the 5820k will out do the 6700k, especially if its overclocked.

As for 4k monitors, depends on your budget?
