Laptop Help

Ive been trying to get my laptop working, the problem, my NIC doesnt seem to be working properly. i ket the computer with and explanation point inside of it. I can hook up Ethernet, but I dont always have the option to use it, and i need my WIFI often. I install the drivers, and still nothing. i go to "Open network and sharing, then advanced to see whats going on. I see the bluetooth that the NIC supports, and the Ethernet, but there is nothing that shows wifi at all. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers (via ethernet), re-doing the OS, and nothing seems to make the NIC work anymore. im not sure if i need to buy a new one, or there is something im missing here.
