CPU Fan Help

Go to solution Solved by lildog,

You at least need a CPU cooler of some sort because the 6700K doesn't include one. Also since you're buying the K I assume you're going to be overclocking so yes you should get a nice cpu cooler with a fan, or a huge passive cooler and a lot more case fans (worst option cuz will be louder in the end with all the fans), or look into liquid cooling. If you're not looking to overclock then you probably shouldn't get a K processor and those will include a stock cpu cooler which should be sufficient.

It was a yes or no question...

Well its clearly a yes isn't it?

Anyway, you could get a fan and set up a custom fan curve so when it gets to a high temperature, it only turns on then, otherwise its always off. Also, you're going to need a large heat sink of some kind if you want passive cooling.
