I was considering a custom loop for my pc, as I am getting a 4790k for my birthday, and my 290x is reaching super high temps.

I made this mock-up of the loop56c52d0e63580_s340loop.thumb.jpg.cbc2b17

Here's the list of cooling parts I'd use

EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM (incl. pump) x1

EK-CoolStream XE 240 (Double) x1

EK-CoolStream XE 120 (Single) x1

EK-Supremacy EVO White Edition x1

EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0) x1

EK-HD PETG Tube 10/12mm 500mm (2pcs) x5

EK-HDC Fitting 12mm G1/4 - White x10

EK-FC R9-290X Backplate - Black x1

EK-Ekoolant Pastel WHITE (concentrate 250mL) x1

EK-HD Tube D.I.Y. Kit 10&12mm

I know little about liquid cooling, as this is my first loop. I understand I'll need a heat gun for the hardline tubing bends, and I have the kit for the cutting of the tubing.

I probably also need a place to drain the loop, below the pump, so what should I use for that?

Any help or feedback is appreciated

For draining a sink or bowl will do. That setup will work with the shroud of the S340 removed. But honestly you don't have that high end hardware so it's not worth it to water cool.
