Logitech G35 microphone issues

Hello everyone,

I bought my G35 about a year ago, I recently started noticing some bacground noise when the microphone is being used. When ever I use, skype, teamspeak or anything that uses the microphone, there is a noticable high pitch noise in the left earcup. I went ahead and tested it on my laptop with the same result.

I didn't find much help looking online, not much documented about this issue.

I found a video on youtube that suggested lowering the input quality in windows, it actually works, the noise is barely noticable anymore (or at all if you want worse than phone audio quality).

I'm currious to know if anyone else has those issues with that particular headset, and if there is an other fix.

Cheers.

There is likely something buggered in the headset, that drivers and software solutions won't fix. If it were my headset I would try to contact Logitech and get them to warranty them.

But all things aside the g35 are a decent pair "gaming" headset so you should talk to logitech.

I don't get the hate for the G35's around these parts, I'm still using a pair of gen1's I've bought second-hand 2 years ago and they work like a charm, despite a broken-off surround switch and the headband being held togehter by duct tape after a kid-related accident.

I like them so much I'm thikning about getting the G933 wireless ones next.

Intel 4770k@4.6GHz, ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero, Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2400MHz CL11, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming, Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB - RAID0 (2x120Gb), 2xWD 1TB (Blue and Green), Corsair H100i, Corsair AX860, CoolerMaster HAF X, ASUS STRIX Tactic pro, Logitech G400S, HyperX Cloud II, Logitech X530, Acer Predator X34.

Uhmm there is no hate here for them. Where did you find that hate for them?

Can't be bothered to look for the posts, but it seemed to me like some people felt the Logitech gaming headphones were overpriced. I don't care about that personally, I just had that impression somehow. I use Logitech peripherals for the last 15 years and they fit my needs well. I'd just love it if they made a mechanical keyboard with the LCD display like they did on the G15...

Anyway, you can expect a "review" on the G933's on the forum if I ever get around to replacing these old things.

ALL "GAMING" HEADSETS ARE OVERPRICED. You can get much better sound for less money in a pair of headphones and get a better mic if you really need one. When we talk overpriced on this part of the forum we are talking about how they sound and what you get for your money and when it comes to "gaming" headsets you get a shitty/ok mic and shitty/ok sound depending on the headset.

I am sorry to say but all "gaming" headsets sounds bad compared to what you can get for the same money or less with a pair of headphones. The G35 was decent for a "gaming" headset when it came out.

Sure if you want your sound to compressed even more + having a bad amp and dac go wireless. The only wireless type of headsets or headphones that doesn't compress the sound is the wifi ones, (that I know of) but they might even do it.

OP as I said call logitech and talk to them about your problem.
