Hello, I am new to this forum like you can see, but I really liked the Scrapyard wars serie (Mostly season 1 and 3).

I am currently gaming on a PC I built from old scrapyard parts. There are my specs:

  • AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.91 GHz
  • 4*1 gb of DDR2
  • Asus 9400 GT graphic card
  • 485W Orion PSU

I am looking to build a new machine based on a Q6600 or a Q9400 because I can get a mobo that fits on it for free. The question is: What graphic card should I put in it? I have a slight preference to nVidia but I can tolerate an AMD/ATI. What would be the best price per performance I can get without the rest of my rig to bottleneck it?

Thanks in advance

just a question do you live anywhere near a junkyard or recycle yard or even a old computer parts store if you do i believe for a junkyard you can just go in there and find something and just pick and pull. youd be amazed of what you can find in an edump for and old computer parts store you can get serious deals on old hardware. i bought a geforce 8800gt for like $10 in a old computer parts store and i can play games at 1080p on low settings. except for minecraft and tf2 i can play them both on high settings
