Budget PC

xxjcxx89

Hey this is my first post and I apologize if I missed something in the forums somewhere that could better help get some good suggestions I did scan through a few build topics already and the read before posting thread but haven't found a build I would like plus a lot of stuff is like Canada and what not xD.

1. Budget & Location

My budget is about 800 bucks I could stretch it slight but prefer to keep it around 800 being the targeted sweet spot but open to other considerations if the performance would be worth it. USD currency Location West Coast, USA

2. Aim

Strictly gaming more specifically WoW

3. Monitors

1 monitor at 1080p

4. Peripherals

No extra peripherals needed have everything else just pure computer components psu, gpu, cpu case, etc...

5. Why are you upgrading?

This is for a friend as a gift so we can game together

I am leaning towards a gtx 970 an i5 or something similar for power and and ssd probably going to be the only storage in the rig (240~250) isn't going to be huge but he can buy his own HDD if he really needs extra storage lol... the problem I'm running into is getting a good mobo power supply and case to cram into this tight budget really could use the expertise and suggestions of people more knowledgeable, thank you for taking the time to read this any and all feedback is appreciated. I realise the i5 and 970 might be a bit too much for the budget and if so I'll come down to something more friendly I just really don't want to skimp anywhere and lack some performance in the needed areas.

Keep in mind, WoW isn't that hard to run, so you could get by with a lot less.

Alright so.. I looked and contemplated over all the builds you guys put together and well someone guy... got this whole red and black theme stuck on me so you know... I kind of went towards black and red and stole some parts from all of the builds to put together this...

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TGLxnQ

I did have the msi gtx 970 gaming version there first and then saw it was like $970 and was like woah... then I saw this

and thought wow okay so theres only like a 10 fps difference for like 120 usd so I was like yeah the 380 is gonna be a sweet spot so i just had to modify starelementpoke's   Sapphire Radeon R9 380 4GB NITRO Dual-X OC Video Card  to a nice black and red skin... only like $40 for pure cosmetics... Thanks some guy lol... chose the crucial ssd for the speed, and I chose the more expensive full atx board over the micro atx boards because I think it would look weird with a tiny mobo inside a big case.. and speaking of cases I looked for my own here cause of the whole black and red theme going now... *cough* aditya *cough* lol anyways I know I ended up making a lot of these changes purely for cosmetic appeal and style but wanted to know what you guys thought since I went with a mix and mash of suggested builds.

Okay so I went back to the drawing board again here with some parts from the lists you guys have made for me and went back to a non themed design because it isn't worth the price it has no included functionality and this isn't for me so that being said i did throw in a wireless network card that way he wouldn't have issues running a cord and a cd drive as well as taking the combo a lot of you have suggested with an ssd and hdd just different drives (trying to keep this between newegg and amazon so i don't have 8 different orders to track which is why some of them have been overwritten despite the price) I did remove the after market cooler to make room for the adapater but if it you guys really recommend a cooler I'll just stretch the budget if not just gonna use the stock.

I'm looking at this as my final component list I'm just looking for someone to say thats good for the money or something lol idk.. :/ I know I went off on my own lala land for a bit trying to do a theme and then was like nooo functionality is far more important this isn't for me lol... I just want to make sure I'm not giving him some piece of crap ya know...
