Hard to tell 7970 is still a beast, but how many used 7970 will be on the market to grab for even less.

Nothing extreme. Most cards retain their value pretty well. At most you will probably see a $50 gap.

$50 more at best. $0 most likely.

You can expect the 7970 to drop by about $50 3 months after the release of the 9970. That's what happened to the 6970.

The prices have already dropped significantly to even $280 for an HD 7970 http://amzn.to/17OYLI6 in some cases so I wouldn't expect to see much more even after the release. In Canada, where you are, it may be a different story since it appear that the HD 7970 http://amzn.to/17Q5n9k is still rather expensive there.

Prices are already epically low. Plus AMD is spending tons of money on the never settle bundles and game developer relations so if anything prices will just have to go up and not down but will likely remain stagnant until the 7xxx series reaches EOL.

But the 6970 was not nearly as aggressively priced as is the HD 7970 as well it did not comes with the neversettle bundle which costs AMD money hence why the HD 7970 will not drop in price again.

I would say maybe less than $50 because they already had a price drop on them so don't really expect them to drop them by that much again imo.

Ok on the subject of price drops what cards do you think will get the biggest price drop on Black Friday and Boxing Day this year ?

Honestly the 7970 is priced so well right now if it drops anymore its going to get in to 7950/7870 pricing its almost always on sale some where for about 289 in Canada and 7950s run around 249 with the 7870 around 199 they can't drop it too much before you drop in to another price category.
