the 390 is overall faster than the 970

and if you're going to buy a windows key don't buy an OEM key it basically only works once, also just pirate windows if you're going to use a grey market key.

also go for an H170 board over that one it'll be a bit more higher end

do you really even need a dvd drive

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I would suggest to get a Windows 7 key for 20$ and upgrade to W10 if you really need to. Currently the Internet is filled with these "A Problem was detected and your computer stopped working" errors on Windows 10.

if it comes to graphics, man, this is just about which one you like more: AMD or Nvidia. Both cards are great.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X | GPU: Vega 64   | RAM: 32 GB G.Skill Trident Z | Storage:  Samsung 850 / Corsair MP510  | Mainboard: ASUS X570 Prime Pro | Case: Fractal Define R6 | PSU: Corsair RM750i  | Cooling: Custom Waterloop

cheers for for you opinion, videos make a good point about the 390 but i just not sure yet.  8GB would be nice incase needed in the future. I guess the only thing im worried about is if amd drivers are going to be okay now with most games and if the gtx 970 would be a better match with a intel i5 6500 rather than a amd 390 with a intel i5 6500. If ya know wanna mean, dunno if that matters much.

there's not going to be any difference pairing one or the other with an intel CPU, and the 390 is simply faster, and has potentially has better DX12/Vulkan support. and you save money if you ever get an adaptive sync display.

Well- just like you said, its up to you.

if you ask me and it comes to style, i would always go Intel/NVIDIA and AMD/AMD.

(the 390 is not much more faster than the 970)

yeah same here, but what is kinds holding me back on the 970 now is the fact that the 390 has 8gb . I do believe that it will defs come in the future.

maybe for 3D modeling but it won't matter for games much, what will matter is DX12/Vulkan and that the card is overall faster.
