Hey guys,

So my two year old Barracuda 2TB has recently failed on me. It's still in warranty and I am planning to RMA it. Has anyone here had experiences with Seagate returns before? Are the shipping guidelines like "Secure each unit in 2 inch-thick foam rubber in a corrugated box. Do not use popcorn, peanuts, bubble wrap or newspaper." really required? If so, where is a good, cheap place I could get my hands on some packing foam in Canada? Thanks.

With hard drives there is usually an advanced replacement option where you pay a little for overnight shipping of the new drive and they use your credit card as collateral in case you don't return the bad one. Then you just use the same shipping material they send the new drive in to return the bad one.
