Hi, I recently found my stock Intel cpu cooler becoming quite loud when playing games like, farcry 4 and assassins creed syndicate. I was wanting to upgrade it to an aftermarket air cooler but I wasn't sure which one to get. This is on an Intel i5-3570.

I was thinking between the; be quiet! Dark rock pro 3, the cryorig R1 ultimate, the cooler master hyper 212 evo, and the noctua Dh-15.

I would prefer to have a very quiet cpu cooler so any suggestions to which you think would be best and why would be appreciated. My budget is max £70 GBP.

Thanks.

Why not? He could run the fans at the lowest rpm while having great temperatures

That's kind of what I was thinking, I know it's a bit overkill but that's why I was thinking the dark rock pro 3, because it apparently is very quiet at idle

It sure is, if you want to go full retard about the silent pc, the NH-D15 or the Dark rock pro 3 would be the best.

Both are quiet, the D15 a bit quieter under load. Get the Rock pro if you like the looks of it

I know it's quite extreme to be looking for the silent pc stuff, but something like a CPU cooler i feel like I wouldn't need to change for a long time so a good investment is what I was thinking. Thanks anyway

Hey if you want to go for a silent build, please go through with it. I'm not to sure though about the future proof thing you're talking about. It would depend on what socket the cooler fits and if you want to upgrade soon or not.

I have an intel 1155 socket but as my i5-3570 seems to be doing pretty well I don't think I'll be planning on upgrading until a really good new architecture of CPUs come out. Thanks about the silent build support, I know there is no need for it but for me I don't like using headphones incase someone knocks on the door, or the phone rings etc.. and I really don't like the loud humming of fans

Thanks man, you've been a lot of help!  Just on another note, do you think having a noise dampened case helps a lot with making a system quiet? or is it just having good case fans?

I can tell you what I think about it, but a this point it's much more fun to find out for yourself. Not because I'm to lazy, but I frankly don't not that much about a really silent builds, from the case to the psu up. I highly recommend wachting this video:

and looking at this site :http://www.silentpcreview.com/

( referred to at end of the video) for every think you'll every need to know about silent pc building.

If you've got more questions which aren't answered on the site, you can post it here (do remember to quote if you want me to know you have a question).

Goodluck!
