Build a mockup in PCPartPicker, that's where you can search all the websites for deals.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

If my post helped you, please rate it!

You must be new if you want an AMD build lol. Don't get an AMD CPU right now. There's nothing that comes close to price/performance of an Intel CPU when it comes to gaming.

But don't build with now in mind, build with an upgrade path.

Why not Skylake and DDR4? 32gb is over kill, 16gb of DDR4 would cost about the same.

True dat. However I am giving him some leverage in case he needs some of the extra RAM or wants to be in the PC Master race.

Yeah, but he can just drop in two more 8gb sticks. But I feel like only content creators need more than 16gb of RAM at this point.
