I was having trouble with this cpu along time ago and I sent it in to ncix however when I got the cpu back I noticed that there was a  little bit of thermal paste on one of small golden receptors on the bottom of the CPU. I could only see that there was a small amount on only one. my question is that is it safe to still use the cpu or will the thermal paste on the receptor affect my computer or potentially cause damage to my mobo.

CPU: AMD a8-3870k

You're talking about one of the pins. I would get that off, and tell NCIX. That's considered contamination on the conductors.

Do you know what I should use to remove it? Thank you

Isopropyl alcohol if you have some. It's rubbing alcohol.

Is it fine if I use coffee filters with isopropyl to remove it or would that bend or break one of the pins.

Do you have any cotton swabs?

Because you are on AMD i would use something small like a needle to remove it, as soon as you bend a pin your cpu is *pretty much* bricked

Incorrect. You can bend pins back to the original position if you're careful, and if it's a ground pin, you can break it off and the CPU will still function.
