Hey guys, has anyone used the Razer Tron keyboard, I've seen some reviews and it looks really nice but the only issue is the backlight on the keys is too weak! and the keyboard is on sale here with 40% off I really feel like buying one, so I would like to know from someone who has used this:
Is the backlight too weak? I do own a Blackwidow ultimate so, being used to that maximum brightness level of that keyboard I wonder how this one will be.

If you already have one keyboard, only other reason for getting a new keyboard (other than the one you'd stated) is to get a mechanical keyboard......going from membrane to mechanical is reason enough. Forget that Tron keyboard, it's just flashy with hardly any improvement over what you have right now. IOW, it's all fart and no shit, go get a mechanical keyboard if you really have an itch to scratch......but forget that keyboard.

BTW, there's always a reason for getting another keyboard......look at me, I have three rigs and I have.....more than three mechanical keyboards. I don't need a reason to get or not get a new one.

I've had this keyboard for almost a year and I have had a great gaming experience with it.  The backlighting of the keys is a little on the low side, but it is just fine because I'd rather it not be too bright and somewhat blind me when glancing down at it.  Great things about it other than the looks?  Fully programmable, aesthetics, and the 10 keypad can be used on either side.  Not so great things? It takes about 2 min to get used to typing on it because the keys are a little bigger than normal and since I have big hands this KB is just right for me, that and the keyboard itself is big.  To each his own, while I can definitely understand why some wouldn't like this keyboard, I really like mine and have a blast using it to game or work.

Rock On!

Well, good for you, not being elitist or anything, but OP already has a BWU, and you're telling him to step (down) to a membrane keyboard? Have you even tried a mechanical keyboard in the first place? Granted, if you think you need all those macro keys and programmable keys, hop on it. IF I were to ever use a membrane keyboard, it'd sure as hell be a Logitech, will never soil my fingers on a Razer.....

The keys are huge. And it's all glossy. I liked it but I couldn't stand it for gaming. Where did you find it?

Agreed, and and my Girlfriend refuse to use Membrane keyboards. I rock a K90 and she rocks a CM Quick Fire (I use Reds and she uses Blues)

Membranes are just so low quality. They don't feel like your typing, only hitting hard plastic like on a cheap laptop. Once you buy a Mechanical Keyboard you really can't go back

A friend of mine has it and personally, I don't find it impressive at all.  Last time I saw it I thought he got a new keyboard.  Upon closer inspection I realized the lights seemed to have gotten dimmer.  He bought this several years ago.  Cool idea, not a great keyboard.

I was answering the OP's question about the Razer Tron keyboard since my friend owns it.  Btw, I use a Ducky Shine 3 w/ MX Blues.  I can't stand membrane.

Oh, my bad then.  And agreed, I have a number of mechanical keyboards, I docan't see myself going back to membrane anymore......ever!

Only reason why OP would go with that Tron keyboard is IF he were a huge fan of the movie......

Let's get something straight, no where did I say to downgrade or upgrade.  The OP was asking for opinions on the keyboard and I gave him mine based on my experience with that keyboard and what it can do.

Rock On!
