I've had my PSU since October - an EVGA Supernova 650W G1 - and for a couple months it's been really loud, at first I thought it was my motherboard, which was an Intel DQ35JO, until January when I overhauled my whole PC. The power supply loudness is actually the fan, it's a loud air whooshing noise and upon investigation it seems to be the fan running at 100% all the time. I'm not putting much pressure on the PSU at all, with my parts using less than 500W according to PCPP. What should I do? RMA it? I've heard EVGA's RMAing is a pain, and it takes a while. I have until October to do this so we'll see.

Try cleaning out your PSU fan first. If that doesnt work, then I recommend you RMA it. Or just rreturn it and buy a new one altogether. I would recommend a Corsair RM650I.

Already cleaned it out, its pretty clean. I would totally buy a Corsair but they're so much more money.

I'd just send it back and ask for a refund. Sounds like you got a defective unit. I'd then proceed to buy a GQ/GS/G2 instead so you get a much better PSU that's also quieter.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
