Late Night Ping in Video Games

Aleksbgbg

I use Virgin Media, my parents pay about £50 per month for shitty TV programs and worse internet.

Download speeds are about 3MB/s

Ping in games is usually ~33, not complaining up to now, however at night time I get spikes of up to 800 ping, with consistent 200 and above.

Is there solutions to this or is it 100% the provider? I didn't have this before (last year).

Are you using wifi? And if so how many networks is your computer picking up?

3MB or 3Mb? 1MB=8Mb

Also, what modem/router/gateway do you have?

Last, what are you playing on? Wired desktop? Wireless console? Etc?

It's probably just the provider cheaping out. if it didn't happen last year, check if you changed anything since

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Many ISPs switch to cheeper routes and methods during nights. If everything is set up respectfully by the ISP you should get only better connection during night cause there´s less conjunction.

In that case, your provider's network is probably under a lot of strain-because Optus over here has similar issues (though exacerbated by wifi in my case by around 3-47 ping).

I meant the model number. How would I know what a "regular" Virgin router is? You want me to search around instead of you just lifting it up and reading the model number? Know what? Never-mind. -_-
