I wanted to perform a fresh install using the resetting function that is programed into the window 10, but it won't let me. It gets this error message saying that "There was a problem resettin your PC. No changes were made." I have been doing a lot of research on this topic and none of the solutions work. I upgraded from windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Thanks for your help.

Just use the media creation tool from microsoft...download the most recent iso and make a bootable thumb drive. Then reinstall by booting from that. When it asks for your serial number just skip it. Microsoft will validate your motherboard and activate windows 10 automatically. Be sure that you have backups of all your data before doing this as it will result in your drive being erased in the fresh install process. I wouldn't trust the "reset" my pc feature when a traditional reinstall will take care of it.

Yea... It doesn't work because you don't have a recovery image. This option is more for OEMs. :/

It is to give users a central, standard location to recover their system from when they bought it. And not have a different way by manufacture and even then, each manufacture changes over the years their system.

Apparently it doesn't work with my laptop from asus, so I used the usb method.
