What to do with it ?

Go to solution Solved by Razor512,

It is still a 100mbit switch. Do you have any IP cameras?

100mbit switches are pretty decent for when you need to wire up a couple IP cameras on the cheap.

If needed, you can also take it apart and reuse the heatsinks and the case for other projects. e.g., if you can seal it pretty well, you can install a raspberry pi and RTL-SDR inside of it, then use the case as a heatsink so that you can weather seal it. You can then mount it outside of the home for better monitoring.

A couple of months back i brought a 'Netgear prosafe Hi-speed vpn firewall' model fvl328, for £3 ($4.30)   at a carboot sale                    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122041      This is it.

Its pretty old, and was wondering is it worth using for something  ? . And if so  what ?

Or should i just throw it out ?
