Gateron Switch internals

Anyone know if the internals of a regular Gateron switch can be transplanted into a Gateron SMD switch? Would hate to order a bunch then find that the parts are different to accommodate the cutout for the SMD.

What internals are you referring to? The stems will all be compatible, and the tops will be compatible, but I can't imagine what else you'd want to do...

Specifically, I want whatever mechanism makes the "click" of the blue switches.

are you talking about the cherry mx clones? what do you mean by smd? cherry and clones should be plate mount or pcb mount no smd

If this is in regard to Team Wolf keyboards - you can very easily put the Gateron normal switches in to them, even without SMD compatibility, but it won't sit flush on the board itself, and same thing goes for the k65 RGB.  But if you want a blue switches click - probably best to buy a blue switch.

Yeah, the drop doesn't offer blue, BUT there's another drop for regular Gateron switches, so if the internals work I can order them and just swap the internals so as to keep the SMD compatible switch housing.
