Need help with some internet problem.

I recently moved to a new home due to my internethsip at a new company.

I moved my pc with me and i'm setup in the loft. ATM i'm using a cheap external wireless card because there is no ethernet outlet up here.

The card itself was pretty cheap but still functions.

Now here's the problem. When I connect to the wireless network, i can use the internet fine for about 2-3 minutes, but then i cannot seem to load new web pages. However, streams, skype, steam and download software are still able to connect to the internet.

So i tried pinging for a couple of minutes to see what the connection looks like. This was the resault.

As you can see, it's on and off.

I suspect it's the wireless card since my laptop works fine (which has an internal wireless card).

I'm not able to purchase an internal internet card for my computer because it doens't have the pci slots avalible. ( Asus Maximus IV Gene-z)

Unless you guys are able to find a decently priced wireless card i'll think about it, but what i'm thinking of doing is pulling an ethernet cable upstairs using an existing coax cable. This is however quite and undertaking because i have to figure out what cable is which.

Pulling the ethernet cable would be the best solution for this situation.

What do you guys suggest i do.

Maybe there's a solution for fixing the wireless card (Connection to the router is always 5-6 bars).

I don't think it has something to do with the DNS since i have tried pinging 8.8.8.8 instead of google.com multiple times with the same resault.

I'm open to suggestoins.

Thanks.

Im guessing you are using a USB adapter (they tend to crash for no reason) ? There are pci-e cards for ~15$ which should work ok, your best option is pulling the cable (i recommend).

Something wrong with your connection ?

Run the damn cable :)

Thanks for the response. It is indeed a USB adapter. I'm not able to find a network card that is compatible with my motherboard's pci slots. But i could be looking for the wrong thing. Maybe you would be able to find a card that will work for my motherboard.

Pulling the cable will take some money and time since i don't have any of the tools/cable to do it straight away, on top of that, i'm on the second story so it'll take quite some cable unfortunately :(.

Whenever i reconnect to the network or reset the adapter, it works for about 30 seconds, but then immidately fails. I have no clue what's going on.
