I have a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD and for some reason it takes abnormally long for it  to boot to windows, but when launching programs it is instant. Whats the problem?

What is "abnormally long" for the boot process? 30 seconds? 1 minute? 15 minutes? More specifics would be helpful!

Thats not that long. 30 seconds is not a long time, if you include bios time. That being said, if you want it to be even faster, you can enable turbo mode in the Magician Software that comes with your SSD. That should help you a lot.

Overall depending on how much space you have used on the ssd, its not always going to boot up in 15 seconds. Your 30 second time is not abnormal, nor a long time.

What's your BIOS time?

Are we talking from off to startup? or from windows to desktop?

This. My motherboard doing all the POST stuff takes a lot longer than Windows loading.

You can configure the BIOS time to be shorter. I once accidentally set mine to 0.1 seconds, needless to say, it was hard to get back into the BIOS :3

Yeah, I know that, but I really don't care. I don't fully power down my computer all that much and when I do, I turn it on and walk away.

For some reason the Boot_Device POST light is on for abnormally long often for about 10 seconds which is quite long considering if this is done with an HDD its only one. Also when I boot to the SSD I cant access the UEFI config and the splash screen wouldn't appear but it would when I use an HDD and can access the UEFI with the HDD. I dont know why
