Hey guys,

I'm just thinking of hosting a basic website on this crappy laptop. First of all, is it possible? If yes, does anyone know how to do dynamic IP things? (Oh, and setting up HTTPS for the sake of it?)

Thanks,

-Bob

Want to know which mobo to get?

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

It's a bad idea as the craptop would probably not be powerful enough. Also, you would need to buy an ssl certificate in order to use https.

My native language is C++

You would also want to have a static IP for hosting a website. Otherwise it'll change every time your ISP refreshes yours. I don't think this is meant to be.

CPU: i7-4770k @ 4.5GHz 1.2vCore     GPU: EVGA GTX 780 @ 1202/1762     RAM: Corsair Vengeance @ 2133MHz (11-11-11-27)     MOBO: Asus Z-87 PRO     PSU: Corsair AX860     SSD: 2x256GB Samsung 840 PRO     HDD: 1TB WD Black     CASE: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2

I was thinking of using https://letsencrypt.org/ for the SSL certificate.

Also, I think I have a dynamic DNS thing. PThe problem is, I don't really know how to use it... at all...
