fair enough, I see what you mean! LIke I said, I'm not really looking to upgrade but if it's a good deal for me I'll do it. Seems like it is

Awesome! I'm using a multi-monitor setup so I would definitely benefit from the high res

Even one R9 285 is faster than a GTX 960 which should be around a GTX 680 in performance so you're getting over double the performance :P

I currently have a gtx680 direct cuii from asus (beast triple slot oc graphics card) and received a trade offer for it for 2 x r9 285s.

How much better are the R9 285s than my single gtx 680?

not looking to upgrade my gpu simply asking about if i would benefit from this trade. please do not suggest anything else

the 280 is the equivalent of the 7950, which at the time, stomped the 680. So the 285 (a better performing and much newer model) is more powerful, 2 of them are significantly more powerful. With that being said you can probably still get a better deal.

The 680 is about a 960. So the dual r9 285's is better. Also I have found 1 r9 285 is good for 1080p

Uh what? The 680 narrowly beat the 7970 back then, it was way ahead of the 7950.
