slow laptop

recently someone gave me this old laptop (asus zg5) and its just so increadibly slow the weird thing is that it boots fast like 15 seconds to desktop fast, but after that it pretty much eats glue, i try to wach a youtube video and it just lags like its just a slideshow of pictures.

i have allready upgraded to the maximum amount of ram, but that dident help so my next idea is to upgrade to a ssd, but i dont know if it is worth it?
