$2,800 Gaming PC

I have about 135,000 Philippine Peso ($2,800) and I'm planning to build a PC that can run games at 1440p resolution, with maxed out settings @60 fps and above as well content creation such as editing videos, movie making, etc. Can anyone kindly recommend a complete build (With a 1440p, 144 Mhz refresh rate Monitor).

Note: I'm willing to add another 125$ if needed.

Double graphics card solution is not so good. I would wait for Pascal GPUs in your place.

Pascal isn't going to be some god send and make 144hz 1440p doable on a single card.

144hz at 1440p is more difficult to run than 60hz 4k mate, a double gpu solution is required for that kind of fps on AAA games at this resolution and refresh rate.

Also, dual gpu solutions aren't that bad, true in some games they can cause issue, but all that requires is disabling one of them until you leave the game, it's not like you're killing a baby everytime a game doesnt support sli or some shit.

A 4690k for content creation might be a little underpowered for content creating and video editing, especially at this budget.

Dual 980ti's should mean solid cuda acceleration to make up for it.

If its still a problem then you can always swap the 4690k for a xeon e3 1231v3, which will work on that board (90% sure on that, will need to double check) and will basically give 'em i7 4790 performance at the price of a 4690k

This one goes even cheaper, and I swapped out the ROG Swift for an 144Hz 1440p IPS from Acer instead. I also included peripherals on this one.

A Titan X isn't that far ahead of the 980 Ti, but goes for twice the price. I don't think it's worth it when you could have two 980 Tis instead.

Yeah I know but 2 980 Ti's make the price go over 3000$

An overclocked 5820k will doubtless outperform both, and while there's a considerable added expense, it's probably worth the extra for content creation, video editing, and future-proofing in general.

Yeah, I didn't factor in windows. Still, in terms of performance, he'll be better off with a B85/H97 board, a Xeon E3 1231 v3, and two 980 Tis than he will with the 5820k, x99 board, and a single Titan X. 144Hz at 1440p is no joke.

A 5820k will see an increase of around 30-40% performance over a 4790/1231v3, thanks to its slightly lower clockspeed and reletively same ipc, so that point can't be argued. However, honestly it really depends on what the OP does more. from a more gamer perspective they might get a lot more use out of the much faster and cooler running hybrid cards, as opposed to the 30% decrease to render/export times on projects. However, if they think themselves valuing shorter exporting times then that 30% boost is certainly something that can't be ignored.

I'd still personally get the 1231v3 and dual hybrid 980ti's im a much more gamer focused person (cept I'd swap the 980ti's for fury x's and the 1440p for a 4k, but im weird like that)
