Hey Guys

I recently tried to overclock my PC for the first time and it went ok got good temps at a decent overclock. However in games like Rainbow Six Siege it caused a BSOD. I immediately turned off the overclock and set my BIOS back to default. CPU-Z says everything is back to normal but I still get BSODs. In normal use I don't have a problem but it seems when I play taxing games like R6S or ARK it results in a BSOD. I tried updating my BIOS and this actually worked a little while. I actually managed to load into the actual game in R6S and play a round but then I got another BSOD. It says system service exception win32k.sys.

My specs are

ASUS Z77 Sabertooth

i7-3770k

Corsair H80 watercooler

8GB G.Skill Sniper RAM

390 Nitro

I've gone into my BIOS and tried messing with the settings to see what the problem is. My temps are fine in game. I've updated my BIOS and I'm out of ideas. How do I fix this?

My BSOD stuff the forum asked for are in this link

If there is anything you need clarified or I should try please let me know. I just want to get this fixed.

EDIT: The blue screens have the message System_service_exception. Windows32k.sys

dude. did you do a 24H Aida64 run atleast? like always do that when seeing if a CPU OC is stable or not. thats why it takes a load of time. stability testing. it getts really frustrating when it crashes in the middle of the night or after 20 or so hours into it, but if its not stable you really shouldent run it, it could crash any time.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

I ran Prime95 overnight and it was stable. I had good temps and it didn't have a problem.

EDIT, The overclock has been off for a week but I still have the Blue screens.

I originally (stupidly) used the built in overclock tuner but I realized within 20 or so minutes that was dumb and switched to a manual overlock with a CPU multiplyer of 42 and 1.225V(ish?)

hmm they seem fine to me

whats your psu?

I just tried reinstalling my graphics drivers. No difference still BSODs in R6S. In BF4 however it just freezes/sorta crashes the game. I'm still stuck on how to fix this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

okay what are your temps?

In BF4 on 64 man Operation Locker it's 78 C on the Graphics Card and 65-70 on the CPU max 73.

that is very odd!

it shouldn't be thermal throttling

it has enough wattage

the overclock seemed completely fine

the only thing that I can think of are that your cpu is damaged (or you toasted it and its on its last few legs just about making it through your games and giving up halfway through your match?)

hmm

give me 10 or so minutes please, I wanna research the error or call Microsoft about it

I do want to help you :D

ill do my best

This sounds more like a memory problem to me. At what speed is your RAM running? Maybe it runs above it's rated speed which could cause similar issues you are having. Try to set it to 1333 Mhz in the BIOS to see if you still get BSOD's.

found this

- Your win32k.sys file has been hacked or is corrupted in the debugger memory and it does not work correctly.
 - You are also running a old version of windows without a service pack or any update.
 - unfortunately you have a driver for you graphics adapter that assumes that the old bugs in the windows 7 were fixed with the updates that you failed to install. Basically, install the fixes or your system will bugcheck sometimes

basically, do a virus scan, then a malware scan (malwarebytes)
run chkdsk /f /r on your drive
 run system file checker
sfc.exe /scannow to fix corrupted OS files.

update to the service pack and the windows update.

I'm running Windows 10 with automatic updates. I've already removed and reinstalled my graphics drivers. I'll run a virus scan to check for that. I'm also doing the sfc scan now thing. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Got the results from the sfc scan http://prntscr.com/a09yv6  Nothing is wrong.

EDIT 2: Malwarebytes didn't find anything

Most of the RAM stuff is set to auto. As for the RAM speed CPU-Z is says this.
