I'm currently using my iPhone 6s Plus to film my YouTube videos.. which is pretty annoying as you can imagine.

In your opinion, whats a pretty nice camera & tripod for smooth pans, tilts, and rising. I plan on getting a DSLR eventually (if theres a decent deal on one now i'll spend some extra on it) but I'd just like something simple in the meantime. preferably with an option for manual focus too.

I'd say around $300 for the both of them. but if theres a good deal i'll spend more.

I have a tripod for it. It's just a normal dinky one though, the real problem is the storage. If I want to keep all my music and everything on there it only leaves me with about 15GB of space on the 64GB model. And that fills up FAST. especially if I want to film in 4K  And it can be a pain to transfer because my computer won't always recognize my phone.

That actually looks really interesting. Is it motorized on the axis? Because that would be perfect. Especially if I could mount it to the trippd I already have.

Yes I believe it can be mounted on a tripod.

It's a motorized gimbal that comes with its own 4K camera.

Additionally there are other models here that can mount just a GoPro or your iPhone.  The DJI Osmo come with its own camera and you use the phone as a field monitor.  There are other, slightly bigger and more expensive models that can support a camera like a Sony, Nikon, Canon.

Obviously your iPhone's camera, GoPro or the camera on the Osmo are unlike a DSLR/MILC which tend to have larger sensors.  Still if you're on a budget and you know how to make the best of your iPhone's camera to get something comparable to what other people might do with a different camera, something like a motorized gimbal will help you achieve smooth motion.

You could choose to buy a new camera, but that would leave you with almost no budget left for a video head if you want smooth pan and tilt, nor a slider if you want other motion.

Assuming that camera would give me comparable footage to my iPhone's camera... What if I just got a new tripod/slider etc. then a DSLR later on? If then, what could you recommend?:)

For this kind of thing, if you plan to mount the slider on a tripod you should go for a tripod that can support a sizable weight.  You need to take into account the weight of the slider, the weight of the camera and lens, and the type of tripod head you plan to use. The legs of the tripod have to be able to support tripod head, camera, lens and every other accessory you want to mount.  While the tripod head/video head has to be able to support camera, lens and all other accessories.

For a slider, do you want to go for a low cost model or a model that offers potential for future expansion.  Some brands offer a simple slider, others offer motorized kits, remote controlled motorized camera mounts for panning and tilting, etc.

You really need to research and figure out what you want to do.

Personally I would recommend you start with this item:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1124918-REG/feiyu_gm_g4_p_g4_3_axis_phone_gimbal.html

feiyu_gm_g4_p_g4_3_axis_phone_gimbal_144

You can keep on using your phone with this and it's only $200.00.

Otherwise you're looking at spending about $1000.00 to buy a good tripod, fluid video head and a good slider that has potential for future upgrades/expansion.

Man, nahhh. If you got 300 dollars get a nikon d3100 used. It will be leaps and bounds better than a iphone. Plus its so much more useful for camera needs. You could easily get it for less than 300 dollars

You could also get a good fluid pan head for 50 dollars

DSLRs have a shit ton of lenses flashes lighting sound battery extension and all of that

The big one is lenses a good lens last forever and over generation
