Since a couple of months my parents' email is being spoofed, so multiple persons in their contact list have been receiving spam mails thinking they came from one of my parents' email addresses.

I've heard you can't do anything about this? Isn't there a single thing you can do?

Spoofing a single address is VERY uncommon actually. It could happen though.

Personally, i think you should run Malwarebytes on their PCs and then change the password to their email to see if that helps. I would bet it will.

I've changed all passwords at least twice and done scans with multiple antivirus programs including malwarebytes, but nothing helped so far.

We aren't the only ones affected, some of our friend and family have the same problem.

You may want to contact your ISP and let them know of the issue. It may be central to their servers. Or it could be some seriously bad luck.

I have contacted them today and they told me it's a known issue worldwide and they can't do anything about it...

Well if they have checked their servers, and you have checked your PCs, there is really nothing that can be done. Email spoofing is the easiest thing to do, and can be done by anyone. Its hard to stop, if even at all possible.
