Basically then entire month of december and half of november have good holiday deals it would seem, with a large number of deals happening the week of both of those days.

You buy when you have a need. Otherwise you wait. Prices trend downward and performance trends upwards, but it's a very slow process. If you have a need now, you buy now. It's really that simple. The sales on "cyber monday" and so on are mostly for stuff like SSDs and other items that have been sitting on shelves for too long. Only if you are willing to visit a brick and mortar store like MicroCenter can you actually find discounts on stuff like CPUs and MoBos, and MicroCenter has these discounts all year round anyway. They're only just a little more on these specific "sales."

I just bought all the parts for my new system and the prices were very competitive but if you are looking for deals the best time to buy is cyber Monday and the sales leading up to Christmas.
