one friend of mine wants to add one module of 2 gb ram (corsair value select 1333mhz) he already has 1  4gb module wich is the same (corsair value select 1333mhz) will they work in dual channel? the motherboard has only 2 slots

It's highly recommended to use the exact same ram for dual channel but it will work in dual channel asymmetric. You don't configure anything differently but it just works differently than symmetrical dual channel where the two sticks are identical.

 

With this, you'll get an improvement over single channel until your ram usage goes over 4GB usage because it will be 2GB from the 4GB stick and the 2GB stick in dual channel with the 2GB left over.
