I was just wondering, because I have 1gb of vRAM for my APU and I can't seem to increase it and it has been causing me to get vRAM issues in some games (especially open world games). If I get a graphics card with 2gb of vRAM, will that make my vRAM 2gb in dual graphics mode? Or will it be limited by my APU?

My ~$200 USD build:

AMD A8-7600    G. Skill Ripjaws Z @1800 CAS 8     EVGA 500w 80+ PSU    Gigabyte GAF2A68HM-DS2H Motherboard

I'm pretty sure it runs off the graphics card vram.

I could be wrong..

Nope, in your case, you would be cross-firing the iGPU with a dedicated GPU but due to directx 11 limitations and how it works, it's always going to choose the lower Vram as it's having to duplicate everything therefore only 1GB would be used by the dGPU.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Are you sure that's how it works with dual graphics tho?

well it's basically a form of CFX so why would it not follow the same principles as any other "dual graphics" modes (I.E. cfx and sli with 2-4 dedicated GPUs)
