Hi guys! I just posted something about needing help with my first PC and people said it was good and I'm happy. I just found my new build, which is going for an all white theme of having a white gpu and a black/grey mobo with the black memory.. and I wanted to see if you guys liked it!

The reason I went for the 3.5/4gb GTX970 is because it is the only GPU that is white, I would've went for the r9 390 but there was only the XFX one which was all black, and the sapphire one wouldn't really go well.. Of course it just may be me being picky but I really want to make this build good :). Would you guys recommend going for the r9 390? If so, which one? (I don't want to overclock because I'm, in fear of doing everything since this is my first build and I don't want to waste money on buying another mobo/cpu.) Thank you in advance!

You can't go wrong with either the R9 390 or the GTX 970.  The 390 looks more powerful on paper, but in actual functionality, they aren't that much ahead of one another.

I would also recommend to maybeee find a little cheaper monitor.  270 bucks is a lot for 1080p, even at 144hz.  I have an Acer 144hz 1080p that I bought for 199.99 on Amazon.  I understand that BenQ makes some good quality stuff though.

That power supply is also a hell of a lot of money for 550W.  Mine cost less than that and its a CX600.  That's just a suggestion because I know you want the whole white theme.

To be honest your build looks fine and you're gonna have a great gaming experience nontheless.

i wanted to get myself an asus vg248qe but I found out that the color settings weren't really too good, which 144hz panel would you recommend though? and also, I thought it was a good enough power supply for that price! I guess I was wrong.. which PSU would you recommend? thank you for your recommendations

Well A forget about aesthetics until your budget is basically unlimited

and B you're going to want an AMD card as for the same price as that display you could get a Free-sync display with the same specs that will be a good deal better to game on, compared to a non adaptive sync display

not to mention the 390 is just a faster card overall, more so at higher resolutions, and the whole DX12/Vulkan thing

That and skylake I wouldn't say is really worth it just yet

That's actually a fantastic build.  Not gonna be your white theme like you want though.

Try changing your theme colors to something easy like Black and Red or Black and Blue haha.

I wouldn't bother spending extra to get a decent overclock, the 4460 is going to be fine for getting multiplayer games to high frame rates. You'd need a good deal more GPU power anyways run try and run AAA games at 144fps

do you recommend getting a 4460 or a 4690 non k edition? I don't want to go for a mini itx because I think the prices will kinda be the same. I might be wrong.. but yeah

0.1ghz probably isn't worth the extra cost, I've no idea why intel splits up their CPUs so much.

hmm, it's pretty weird. I might go for the 4460 + h97 mobo and an r9 390 with that monitor... do you know if the monitor the guy gave me comes with dual link/display to enable 144hz?

The free-sync one comes with a display port cable ya, you need display port to make use of free-sync currently
