Hey, i got reccomended by a friend to use this forum for help for a certain game.

so yeah, basically, i have a 55' 4k screen for my PC monitor. Since getting the screen i'm having problems with a certain game, MX Simulator. I only have problems with this game so i dont know if the screen is the problem or if the game is the problem. I used the Mx Sim forum to look for help but so far nothings helped. You can see that forum post here: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=38187

However, i'll try and briefly sum up the problem here:

i used to get 125fps on max graphics, whether it was single player or online, now i get a flickery 28-32fps on the lowest of graphics which makes a game like MX Sim pretty much impossible to play. If i mess around with video settings it will jump from 28-32fps and will go to 58-62fps but has lag spikes

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

make sure you have the tv/panel in game mode if it has one.

also make sure that you're connected to the screen using HDMI 2.0 (you need an HDMI 2.0 compatible graphics card). HDMI 1.4 doesn't have the bandwidth for more than 4K 30Hz which will look laggy.

otherwise, possibly more a software issue with the game.

Well, that's seems about right to me.
Unless you have two or more, high end GPUs, forget about gaming in 4k. The hardware is just not there yet to enjoy proper 4K gaming. This is why next to nobody is recommending anyone to get a 4k monitor for gaming.

I suggest you just go in the config of your games, and reduce the resolution back to 1080p/1440p or something like that.

But just as a side note, what resolution was your previous monitor and what is your current PC's specs?

Depends on your hardware really, my desktop plays most games just fine in 4K (dual GTX980's)

That's also why I said "unless you have two or more, high end GPUs".
I'm guessing the OP either has a single GPU or a few lower end ones. Which isn't adequate for 4k gaming just yet.
