I'll try this out, thanks.

Sorry I didn't mention, I'd been using the GPU for a year prior in my first build, added it when I got a new MB, CPU and the RAM. Could it have been damaged badly between transferring it?

EDIT: I should add that I hadn't had the problem before

I see, it could have been damaged from static electricity, or being bumped too hard. Could also be software issues; such as, malware, or a corrupted operating system. I would suggest trying a fresh install before anything else, and see if the issue still persists. Document all the errors, crashes, ect.

I've worked on a system like this before, and it turned out to be a bad GPU. Strange driver issues when installing too.

I regret to admit that that wasn't the first thing that came to mind when thinking of damaged memory, but have any ideas in case the memory is fine? Crashing is described in the other post.

Is the game crashing w/o error? Or is your computer crashing?

My ~$200 USD build:

AMD A8-7600    G. Skill Ripjaws Z @1800 CAS 8     EVGA 500w 80+ PSU    Gigabyte GAF2A68HM-DS2H Motherboard

Have you tried updating your drivers?

EDIT: Nevermind that was covered in the topic. I don't really know what to do at that point, maybe put your driver's process in high priority mode?

Thanks a lot. I'll likely do a fresh install over the weekend. In regards to the handling of the GPU between builds, I sort of doubt there was any severe electrostatic shock, I was working on a hardwood table, grounding regularly, no carpeting while working, though I obviously don't know if I bumped it or something else did. I'll just check the second DIMM tonight for any errors there, but otherwise your suggestion seems like my best bet.

Also try another PCI-E slot if you can to rule out the motherboard. (I doubt it's the motherboard though)
