Hey, I was wondering if anyone was familiar, on here, with the Windows Server OS? I couldn't find a thread (if I missed on please link me). Anyway, I am using windows deployment server (WDS) to manage a few images for a bunch of computers. Recently I have been running into an issue when I try to deploy the image it gets all the way to 99% on extracting files and fails. Anyone have ideas? I will post some more specifics on the error code and stuff here soon.

Also, I am new to the forums on here, if I am on the wrong part of the forums just let me know :)

Thanks for any help!

Hurry up and post the error codes.

Here ya go - Windows cannot install required files....error code: 0x80070714

This comes up in a popup everytime I try to install it. I have recreated the image before, and I captured an image from a base installation of windows with no software on it, and was able to deploy the image. Then I installed software and joined it to a domain, and this issue happened. Here is a link to my post on microsoft's site- https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/fff30c19-5a2b-4e23-96d4-162f3e056e86/wds-installation-failing-at-99-on-expanding-files-error-code-0x80070714?forum=w7itproinstall#254ab609-896e-4fdb-a71f-e97e4b29c402

Hi,

Whenever you use an image, make sure the captured image is joined to a domain. Because the image itself then can't be pushed onto any computer because of unique SID's and stuff.

Also: When you want to create an image, install software on it and then want to capture it, you should also use sysprep for that image otherwise the UUID of the OS when you deploy it will be the same (so whenever you deploy selfmade images, always make sure to use sysprep).

Not sure if this is the case for that problem
