HTc one m8 error while updating

Go to solution Solved by Diacred,

No you're fine, dont ! I found the solution :)

Simply follow the instructions here :

http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8/news/

Section "Manual system update instructions"

Mainly:

- download the 1.4 GB file on your computer.

- Follow the instructions

- Plug your phone / Put your phone on fastboot as explained in the note

- Launch the .exe you just downloaded

Note : If the ROM update wizard fails to recognize the device, close the wizard and then follow the steps below:

· From a powered off state, hold VOLUME DOWN while powering on the device.

· Use the volume buttons to scroll to FASTBOOT and then press the POWER button to select it.

· Connect the device to the PC while in this state and attempt the ROM update again.

You will lose everything on your phone though but it works now and I did not have to pay anything. Also it took like 20 minutes.

Cheers :)

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread but am new and don't know what this problem comes under.

My HTc One m8 tried doing an auto update to Android marshmallow but when it rebooted it had an error and now wont launch into android at all. When i turn on the phone all i get is the Android recovery menu*. I will attach pictures of what i can see, I purchased the phone about 8 months ago and its not cover by a warranty. I was running the google now launcher. When i reboot it shows a boot loader menu.** Have factory reset the phone  using this menu.

If you could help that would be great.

Thanks
Liam

Well, it's bootloader unlocked, S-OFF, and SuperCID... was it like that when you got it?

Same thing happened to be under the same circumstances. I eventually just bit the bullet and let it reset my phone.

I have had the exact same problem since the yesterday's update too.

Have you found help ?

And do you actually have an sdcard in your phone ? My take on this is that (I don't have have an sdcard) maybe he is trying to mount the sdcard but the device is not physically present and it just can't. I would try inserting and SDcard and rebooting but I don't have any.

Your absence (or not) of sdcard would help at least know if this could be the problem.

Thanks a lot.

Just tried, it did not change anything. Might have been the trigger but now inserting a sd card has not resolved the bug :/
