Hi guys, new to the forum after reading for a while and following on youtube.

Was hoping someone could help, i'd like to build a second system for my bedroom which will be used to stream games from steam and movies from my main system (i7 4770, gtx970, 16gb ram, 3tb hdd, 128gb ssd) which us pretty capable of handling storage and running games. I've just built my dad an intel celeron NUC as an htpc and have enjoyed testing it out so its inspired me to build my own but i wouldnt mind a bit more power for my own. maybe capable of rocket league and some older games without streaming.

I've specced up the following, and have an old 2gb gtx645 to throw in there with it. could i do it any better without spending too much more?

I see no one has replied to you just yet, this thread would get buried really quickly, ill just make one HTPC build just for comparison sake and see if going for each gives you any advantages.

-EDIT-

Your build looks great, and it's very difficult to get similar pricing on the Intel side.

So i would call your build a success. Maybe more RAM?

You could try a tiny APU-based build in something like an Antec ISK 300-150.

Also, the Crucial BX200 240GB is a killer deal right now- it's going out for just over $50 US.

Give me a moment, let me try to come up with something based on that.

It's a really, really small case with an integrated 150w power supply from Antec. An APU is essentially a CPU and GPU all in one, as its cores consist of both processing cores and graphics cores.

Well, it'll outperform the CPU you have, but it might lose out to the GPU. Sorry- I didn't read that you already had a GTX 645.

Your build seems solid, but you probably won't be playing anything on it without streaming it from your rig.
