While it sounds dumb on first glance to stick and trust only one company with your hard earned money, that's actually what I did. So not even a month ago, I built my own simulation oriented rig or MOSOR as I like to call it. It featured a powerful i7-4790k with all cores running at 4,4GHz mounted on a generic Z87X-D3H Board by Gigabyte and cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. As for the casing I thought to myself, I just need something where I can put all the stuff in and that an expensive case was not very much needed, as I wasn't planning upgrading to a watercooled system or any sort of that. A good airflow was needed though. I blindly entered "PC Case" on amazon and the first item it spit on me was the Sharkoon VG4-W. It had good reviews and was also very cheap. So I gave it a try. All the parts came in and withing couple days I finished MOSOR with good results! If only there weren't a few issues with the case in general. I thought maybe if I picked up more expensive cases like from Corsair, which I trust a lot, I would have like zero issues. In the past I had a Corsair RAM and PSU and I was very sattisfied with their overall quality.

So couple weeks passed by and my brother was telling me he was having issues with his PC overheating. I suggested him buying a bigger cooler and also a better case, since his was... assshit. So since my Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO did perform pretty good for me and I have zero complains about it, I suggested it to him. As for case, I thought he might want to get a Corsair PC Case, since I wanted only the best for him. We didn't have that much money to buy a big full tower obsidian 900D or that hell of sexy Graphite 760T, so I we went with the Carbide SPEC-03. (now before you go on rambling that the 212 evo won't fit in a spec-03; it does, and when I finished it up, there was even like 1cm free space between the pipe and the glass - funny enough, there was more space than on my Sharkoon VG4-W which claims to support 160mm!) I also was thinking of upgrading my Sharkoon VG4-W, if all goes well. Maybe I could benefit from better cooling. (The VG4-W only has two places for fans- one 120mm on front and one 120mm on rear.)

All good now. His new Corsair case and CM 212 arrived and I spent a whole day disassamble his PC and put his parts into his new case. I must admit, the case definitally feels very strong and robust. But it was only after the build was completed and we ran his new PC on the new case. First issue we encountered was, that the front USB 3.0 have some sort of loose connection and don't work at all with USB 3.0! This is definitelly not wanted from a top notch company! Also may I point out that the SPEC-03 only features two USB3 ports while my VG4-W has a total of 4 ports on front? This is just unacceptable! I pay more for a better build quality, but there is litterally NONE! It may be a little more robust and has a wider panel for cablemanagment, but that's all! No it's actually worse, because I get a defective front USB plugs.

Also seller won't take it back, because he believes it was my fault, because I had to take out the front panel for the extra fan, while this is just complete utter bullshit!

I have added two extra fans on his SPEC-03, another one on the front and one on the top, so I figured maybe the temps on AIDA64 stability test might perform even better than on my VG4-W. nope. it's exactly the same as my, with around 30°C on idle and max 70°C on load.. But at least he doesn't run into heat issues anymore..

Like what in german is said "I feel assed!". Corsair, sorry to say this, but I had expected better from you, yet you disappointed me!

Sounds like a bad unit more than anything.

Request an RMA. Corsair cases are seldom ever bad; they are usually at least decent.
