Hello everyone!

Sorry for the long post maybe I should have made two but I really don't know what to do.

So, first things first, I need a new pc and I make 800$ a month.

With that out of the way I have never used a desktop pc and never built one all I know is thanks to Linus.

What I do on my pc is unfortunately a lot. I say unfortunately because you can all understand it's a very bad experience when you game, record music, edit videos (or at least try) on a 4core 1.8ghz cpu and a gtx 720m 1gb ddr3 card........

After this part of the post things will get difficoult to follow but I beg you to stay with me.

Question 1. Do I stick with a laptop going for the new Dell 15 7000 series (in italy they sell also a config with i7, 16gb ram and 128gb ssd on top of the 1tb hdd) or do i build a desktop for the same money (the model with above specs comes with a UHD 15inc display and costs about 1300$)?

Question 2. If I go for the laptop is it better to buy the full optional or the base model (keep in mind in Italy it doesn't come in the i5 config only i7, 8gb ram, no ssd, 1080p 15inch display and it goes for about 1000$) and buy an 8gb ram stick and a 256gb m2 ssd as i would spend less and 1080p display is less demanding both for gpu and the battery? If you think the second config is the best remember I know nothing about this stuff so I need help on models for both the ram and the ssd

Question 3. If I decide to blindly follow Linus vids and try to build my own desktop (always 1300$ monitor included) do you have any suggestions? Remember I also record music so I need a silent case (like the R5 from Fractal). The only things I know are that I wouldn't go higher or lower than a gtx 970 (I know AMD is cheaper but I am an Nvidia fan), no less than 16gb ram, i5 4690 (i don't really plan to overclock) and I don't think I wanna go with skylake as ddr4 ram is more expensive.

Sooo.....

If you are still here you already deserve a huge thank you!

What should I do?

I hope it was understandable as my english needs some improvements  :)

Do you travel with laptop a lot @Gabrjel90? Also, welcome to the forums :D Please follow your own threads.

Oh yes I forgot. I travel quite a lot with my laptop so if I go with a desktop I keep my current laptop just for light stuff when I travel but if I go with the laptop I can also try to sell this one for some bucks :P

Btw thank you for your welcome and I think I am following it :)

Just get a 4460, the difference between that and the 4690, is a clock-speed upgrade. since you won't OC, its not worth the extra dough (in most cases)

First I need a suggestion for question 1 than from there comes everything else but thank you I'll look into that
