need some advice / help

Hello there,

 

I recently learned that you can root your phone and use custom ROMs, but I don't know what exactly there is out there and what would be ideal for me and my phone.

I own a Sony Ericcson Arc S running Android 2.3.4 and basically what I'm looking for is getting rid of all the preinstalled garbage and everything unnecessary that eats CPU power and drains the battery in the background. I also don't need any fancy surfaces, my current version seems quite fine to me.

All I want my phone to be able to do is browsing the internet, playing YT videos, MP3s, skype, twitter, emails, dict.cc which is a handy translator app and maybe Maps and whatsApp, and all of that as smoothly as possible.

 

How do I best achieve that? =)
