Second HardDrive will not show up.

ProEra

my younger brother has a PC with a 70gb Samsung SATA hard drive in it. he has now filled the 70gb and i have got another 160gb sea-gate hard-drive but it is an IDE hard-drive, so i bought a IDE to SATA converter and installed the molex power for the hard-drive and the SATA plus the 4 pin connector on the converter. the hard-drive spins and the light on the converter comes on but the hard-drive does not show up in "My Computer" or in the "Computer Management". SOMEONE HELP ME

i have just tried that and in the device manager it only shows the Samsung hard-drive

disk management, find the drive or partition, right click, assign letter, pick a letter

go to the start menu and search diskmgmt.msc. this will take you to the place were you can set up your hard drive.  here you can format it and assign a drive letter.

I'd try the adapter in another computer. If you know the hard drive works, then the adapter might be faulty.

Does the type of IDE to SATA adapter have two SATA ports?

Because if it does, one is for SATA to IDE and the other is for IDE to SATA.
