Right now I have been shutting down my computer using the power button in Win 8 then on my case. I make sure the monitor displays "No input Displayport" so I do not corrupt any Windows files, then use the power button on the case to turn the hardware off . But my question is, is it bad for the hardware (CPU, Mother Board, GPU) by shutting it down using the case power button.

Sorry - not sure what the issue is. When you tell Win8 to shut down, is it not shutting down completly? I am not sure why you need to touch the power button on your case. When you tell Win8 to shut down, it shuts the system down. The only thing the system will draw at that point is a minimal trickle/standy power. typically if you then hit the power button on your case, system should boot up...

It should shut down just wait it might take longer for your computer to shut down. Are you pressing the shutdown button in the sidebar on the left?

I am shutting it down through the sidebar on the right. It then says shutting down. The monitor goes blank but the water cooler and the fans stay on. Once the monitor says No input detected I hold the case power button on the case to shut it down. I have turned off the option for the fans to stay on after the system shuts down. But is it ok to turn off the mother board, water cooler and fans using the case power button?
