Need help choosing RAM

Go to solution Solved by Octavialicious,

Great ram that matches your colour theme (good deal too!)  :) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-hx316c9srk216

New PC build, I would like 16GB dual channel but the RAM I picked apparently won't be fully utilised, if you guys could give suggestions bearing in mind this is a red/black themed build and my budget is £80.

It's DDR3 2400 which is overkill and a waste of cash :P (no performance increase tbh)

You might want to change out that PSU. A SeaSonic or XFX one would work better. Alternatively, a Antec HCG 620 has a bit of red and black going on so you might like that instead.

You're going to need DDR3 so I'd look to getting some 16GB of some HyperX Fury Black.

That looks good, its £11 pounds less expensive than the 2400 one, when you mean no performence increase do you mean absoulutley zero or just not worth it, am I going to get £11 pounds worth of extra performance?

I picked that PSU purely because it was at the top of the 650W range and was fully modular. Is it unreliable? Also the colour doesnt matter as the case im using (Noctis 450) has one of those PSU covers. I would like a PSU that is fully Modular, 600W - 650W and less than £85

It's not the best. Bad 12V voltage regulation. There are many other brands that'll do better for around the same price.

As for a fully modular PSU, you can't get better than this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1
