Hey everyone, I'm working on buying computer parts for my first PC build... but there's a problem. I have my heart set on the AMD FX8350 CPU and the EVGA GTX 960 FTW GPU. What's the problem you ask? I don't know if they're compatible with each other or not. I've searched all over the internet looking for the answer with no luck. So I've come to you for help. So are they? or are they not?

They are compatible.

You might want to change the GPU out to a R9 380 instead since it offers more performance at a similar price.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you plan to SLI or Crossfire too much (>2). Any singe or even dual core gpu won't be bottlenecked by your CPU.
Even with PCI-e 2.0 there are only a handful of cards which can over-saturate the practical bandwidth limit of the technology.

Technically... you can run:
2 graphics cards in 16x PCI-E 2.0
Or 4 graphics cards in 8x PCI-E 2.0
