Hyper T4 doesn't fit

I made some spacers from some rubber SSD mounting dampeners and put them in the mounting bracket.  It fits now.

Got a hyper t4 cooler and it said it would mount natively on amd boards but the arms that attach to the clamp hooks aren't long enough.  Am I doing something wrong?  The website said FM2+, but the instructions don't have that listed as a compatible size

I'm going to see if I can get some spacers under the mounting bracket under the board, I'll report back, I don't think it'll work though

Are you sure the plastic arm for the retention arm is flipped the right way?

positive, I've been trying to figure something out for like half an hour, plus I just rechecked

Can you post a photo?

It'll be hard to get a good picture, I'm replacing an old cooler and the mobo is still in the case.  Plus, I couldn't get a pic of both sides at the same time.

The retention arm that came with the T4 doesn't reach far enough to hook the plastic brackets on the board

 

Would it be a bad idea to file down the plastic?
